Libya: Tripoli under the threat of an explosion

Libya: Tripoli under the threat of an explosion "catastrophic".

Violence in Libya have no truce, while the authorities are incapable of controlling dozens of militias that make the law in the country since the fall of the regime of Muammar Gaddafi in 2011. The France followed the example of many Western countries in urging its nationals to leave the country. And Tripoli, near a huge oil tank fires threaten the capital, Monday, July 28.

Different groups - the Islamist fighters and former rebels from the town of Misrata, their former comrades in arms from Zenten - are fighting for control of the capital, while others compete in Cyrenaica, with in the background the race for control of oil resources, the breakthrough or the annihilation of armed Islamist groups, and a struggle for influence between financial sponsors of the Gulf (United Arab Emirates), with result of exposing the country to the risk of explosion, as Somalia from the beginning of the years 1990, when rebels allied to hunt Siad Barre had then ravaged Mogadishu and destroyed the structures of the State.

Tripoli, at least 97 people have been killed and more than 400 others wounded since the fighting erupted July 13, mainly concentrated around the airport, which was closed after having been partially destroyed. Benghazi, in the East of the country, is also for 24 hours the scene of heavy fighting between the army and Islamist groups. At least 38 people, mostly soldiers, were killed, and it deplores some 50 wounded.
